Meet Katherine Carleton, clarinetist living in Peterborough, Ontario.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Katherine Carleton is a long-time arts manager and an avid amateur clarinetist. She has worked as a teacher, academic administrator, granting officer and orchestra manager, and became Executive Director of Orchestras Canada\/Orchestres Canada in 2005. Before COVID-19, she was preparing for a busy spring season of performances with the Clarington Concert Band, the B-45s (a clarinet quartet), the Peterborough Symphony Orchestra, the Peterborough Theatre Guild, the Toronto Clarinet Choir, and Otis and his Honey Lambs, a New Orleans-inspired jazz group. Since COVID-19, she\u2019s spent a lot of time making music and connecting with clarinetists around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Katherine has a Bachelor of Music degree in Performance from the University of Toronto, and a Master\u2019s degree in Management from McGill University through the McGill-McConnell Program for National Voluntary Sector Leaders. She was named as a Member of the Order of Canada in December 2016 in recognition of her work as an advocate for orchestras and the broader arts sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
